Introduction

 

As members of the St. John’s university’s community we often see many statues and symbols on the Queen’s campus, however, more often than not, we do not know the meaning or the significance of the statues and symbols.

 

The mission of this digital library is:

 

To educate the St. John’s university community about the significance and meaning of the symbols on its main campus

 

To illustrate the social justice and “life, liberty & the pursuit of happiness” of the symbols

 

To show how the symbols relate to St. John’s University’s Vincentian heritage

 

To promote Vincentian values

 

To encourage reflection and contemplation of what it means to a part of a Vincentian community by viewing the symbols
